Get Ready for 2023-2024!
Dear Parents/Guardians,

We look forward to seeing you on September 7. Please see the supply lists for the upcoming school year. Supplies can be sent in over the course of the first week of school. Please send in what your child is able to carry each day. Please also see a copy of the parent letter detailing procedures.

Important Information for September:

Important Information:

School Hours for the 2023-2024 school year will be 8:15 a.m. — 2:35 p.m.

Doors will open @ 8:15. Breakfast will be grab and go and will be eaten in the classroom.

You will be notified before September 7^thof your child's new class, name of teacher, dismissal location, etc.

If you have not joined my email list, please do so by emailing tolivie@schools.nyc.gov. Please let me know the grade your child will be in next year.

When dropping off and picking up your child, please remain outside the fence.

Line-Up Procedures Beginning September 7, 2023: (Parents/Guardians will remain outside the fence)

Grades 1 — 5 will meet their teacher in the schoolyard at 8:15 a.m.

Kindergarten only — will line-up along fence on East 33 ^rdStreet beginning at 8:30 a.m. Students will then enter the yard (closest to the turf area) and meet their teacher.

Overview

At P.S. 222 our ENL program focuses on enhancing the reading, listening, speaking and writing skills of our English Language Learners. Our program, "On Our Way to English," engages students through captivating visuals, literature with a variety of genres, while focusing on language development and vocabulary.

We also offer English classes for adults. These classes are available to parents who would like to improve their English speaking skills while forming new partnerships with other parents in the school community.

Also, in the spring we host a school wide Multicultural Night. This takes place on Parent Engagement Night in May. Our school community comes together to celebrate culture and diversity. We celebrate with music, food, dancing, art and other amazing representations from around the world.
